Swappable Scenes

What is It?

Swappable Scenes are the latest trend in truck-side advertising. It is a means to turn trucks into billboards without dramatically changing the appearance. Some forms of truck-side advertising may appear archaic, but our product is much more advanced.

Swappable Scenes is an innovative technology that allows our customers to advertise on truck-sides without sacrificing the appearance. A discreet metal frame is installed around the perimeter of the trailer skin. This permanent fixture is not very noticeable even when there is no vinyl insert in the tracks. Therefore, fleets are able to travel with or without the vinyl banner and still appear polished and presentable while on the road.

How it works:

Install the Frame

This is the first step to creating a Swapable Scene. A subtle aluminum frame is installed around the perimeter of the trailer skin using rivets.

The frame has a sleek design that takes on the same appearance as the existing parts of the trailer. The slight alteration in appearance allows truck fleets to travel with or without the vinyl inserts.

Print the Vinyl Insert

The vinyl inserts are printed using an ultra high resolution and durable, heavy weight vinyl. This is the same product used for billboard applications across the country. These prints are constructed to last for many years.

Attach Bead to Vinyl

Once the vinyl is printed, a special made bead is adhered to the perimeter of the entire print. This bead is what slides into the aluminum frame and allows us to pull the material taut.

Insert Vinyl

The first step to installing the vinyl is attaching the top edge. This is done by feeding the top bead into the c-channel across the top of the trailer.

The next step to inserting the vinyl is fastening the two sides. This is completed by sliding the aluminum insert piece onto the vinyl edge. These pieces are then clipped into the insert piece that is affixed to the trailer side.

Tighten Vinyl

The bottom edge is always attached last—this will pull the entire print tight. Again, the vinyl bead is fed into one of the channels of the aluminum insert piece. There are five channels to choose from, which enables our installers to adjust how tight the vinyl fits the trailer.

The innovative design is a self-ratcheting process. The insert piece is pressed into the aluminum frame and snaps into place. Your Scene is now installed and just needs to be secured.

Secure Into Place

Small clips are secured into place every 10”-16” using stainless screws that hold them into place. This holds the frame into place at high speeds.

To cap off the process, a matching aluminum piece is applied to all corners. This gives the Scene a polished look.

Change Message

Once you have a frame installed on a truck, your message can be changed as needed. The process of printing and installing a new vinyl insert is quick and inexpensive!
